Ben Menenberg︱Insider Investing With Our U.S. Board

Our volunteer U.S. Board generously supports Special Hope Network with their unique experience and talents. For the next two weeks (July 13-24), they’re challenging investors to a matching campaign to support the growth of SHN! Our Board has personally contributed $23,500, and we have two weeks to match their gifts. Will you consider giving?

BEN MENENBERG

“My wife Laura and I have been involved with Special Hope Network since 2012, when we became friends with the Nelson family in Zambia.  During this time, we sensed a clear call from God to commit our lives to caring for children with intellectual disabilities, and this calling has become our family mission.

While in Zambia, we witnessed firsthand the launch of our Community Care Centers in 2012, and my wife volunteered as a nurse for Special Hope from 2012-2013.  Most significantly, the Nelsons were instrumental in helping us adopt our oldest son, Nathaniel, a wonderful young man who is now 13 years old (!!) and who has intellectual disabilities.

I continue to serve Special Hope as Board Chair because I believe that God is pleased when we love children with intellectual disabilities and their families in the way that Christ has loved each of us.  These children face incredible challenges, including lack of services, poverty, and stigma.  By serving and celebrating them, we are making a value statement about what pleases God and about whom He dearly loves.  I am humbled to be a part of this, and I pray that our beneficiaries, staff, and donors will likewise respond eagerly to God’s call to love children with intellectual disabilities and their families.”
