Supporting Kids with

Genetic Disorders

Meet Bright.  He has learned so much in his five years at our Ng’ombe Community Care Center.  His Mom didn’t know anything about his disability when he began in 2012, and loved him so much that she pursued care for him.  She comes faithfully to our CCC, and to all the medical appointments we set up for Bright.  Through SHN sourcing the best medical care here, it was found that Bright has a chromosomal abnormality which caused intellectual disability and a stunting of his growth that includes microcephaly.  You have the privilege of supporting children like Bright who have genetic disorders by supporting our Community Care Center children each month.  You can do this by signing up on the form above!

Supporting Kids with

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Meet Aggie.  She is an energetic and very spunky 8 year old girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  She lives in a home with 10 people (can you imagine that?). She has come to our Ng’ombe Community Care Center for the past four years, and her mom has learned how to have her do academic and functional tasks in order to ‘earn’ the sensory play she loves to do, such as swinging or bouncing on the trampoline.  You can support children with autism like Aggie by choosing to sponsor a child at one of our CCCs monthly.  We currently have 6 kids with ASD at our three CCCs.  Give in the form above. (We really hope you do!)

Supporting Kids with

Cerebral Palsy

Meet Besnart. Besnart is 8 years old and has Cerebral Palsy.  She has been attending our Garden Community Care Center for two years.  Her Dad isn’t involved in her life at all, so mom and Besnart love the community of our CCC and the friends they’ve both made there.  Her mom has learned so much about mobility play and positioning Besnart to strengthen her weak muscles, that she is now a resource to other parents and helps them with their children.  You can support children who have Cerebral Palsy like Besnart at our CCCs by signing up on the left. Half of our Special Hope kids have Cerebral Palsy, so we need at least 75 monthly donors among our three Centers.  Give in the form above.  Thank you!

Supporting Kids with

Down Syndrome

Meet Isaac.  He is 7 years old and has Down syndrome.  He has been in our Garden Community Care Center since he was 2 yrs old.  He learned to walk and talk, and his mom has learned about nutrition and keeping him healthy and protected from germs.

We currently have 4 children with Down syndrome at our centers in need of monthly support.  Give at the form above!

Supporting Kids with

Microcephaly or Hydrocephaly

Meet Grace, from our Garden CCC, who is almost three years old. She has had two operations, and many hospital admissions, as her head was growing too much.  She needs physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional and swallowing interventions, and academic teaching and training so her Mom can stimulate her growth at home.  In our three CCCs, about 10-15 children at any one time have microcephaly or hydrocephaly.  These children require extra care in the form of neurological appointments and medical help.  You can give in the form on the left!  Thank you.

Supporting Kids with

Maintenance Medicines

About 30 Special Hope Community Care Center children require maintenance medicines that aren’t provided by local clinics and hospitals.  These include medicines that control and prevent seizures, such as sodium valproate, carbamazepine, and phenobarbital. They also include the provision of baclofen to over 20 children who have Cerebral Palsy, which eases tightness in muscles that are increasing in contractures, to keep limbs flexible.  All these medicines are given under the recommendation, prescriptions, and oversight of pediatricians. We need about 30 donors for this provision of care.  Give in the form on the left, please![/image_with_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
